I've owned and loved dogs most of my life.  Definitely label me a dog person.

A few years back, I became alarmed at all the recalls issued for dog food & treats; sadly, they still continue today.  My dogs are part of the family; so the last thing I want is for them to get sick; or worse yet, die from something I fed them. That's when I decided to start baking my own dog treats using natural ingredients, free of preservatives and food dyes.

After finding a basic flour recipe for dog biscuits, I started with whole wheat flour and oat flour and then experimented with different combos of fruits, vegetables and seeds. My dogs, Sheba & Keko, became my official taste testers and always look forward to baking day!

Unfortunately, Keko loved everything I made; so Sheba, the finicky one, became the real tester on what smelled & tasted delicious. I made each biscuit unique by using a different fruit and added other wholesome ingredients like flax seed, nutritional yeast, peanut butter, cheese, parsley and wheat germ.

My next project was dehydrating, rather than baking, some new treats. Dehydration is an amazing drying process which does a fantastic job of preserving the nutritional value of foods.

I developed some dehydrated fruit/veggie stick combos that are softer to chew and do not need refrigeration like the biscuits do. Three ounces of puree, once dried, seems small, but the sticks are packed full of nutrients and fiber. Another item is the dehydrated chicken feet. Chicken feet you say? Yup, they're a crunchy treat full of collagen and calcium.  The pups love them!

New in 2022 were the doggy donuts and mini muffins, which became fan favorites. Made with combos of their favorite foods, there are now 4 flavors available. This includes peanut butter & banana, apple & pumpkin, oats & blueberry (gluten-free), and cheese & zucchini. Available with or without an icing made of plain Greek yogurt, tapioca and honey. One is bound to be your dog's favorite!

I hope your dog enjoys my treats as much as mine do!
